I have had my car for 5 years and have never had an ounce of problem with it. Last night I started it up, no hesitation, no problems, drove 2 miles and at a stop light, it just quietly died. It didn't sputter or buck, just stopped running. All the trouble lights lit on the dash. When I tried to restart it would strongly crank, but would not turn take and start.
gas tank 1/2 full, all lights working.
What do you think it could be?

To begin, you need to check for two things, spark and fuel to the engine. Chances are the fuel pump went bad, but I you need to check to make sure.

Here are the directions for checking both:

Let me know what you find.
