1999 Other Honda Models Two Wheel Drive Manual 63345 miles
I OWN A HONDA HRV 1.6, THE ENGINE FLUCTUATES ON TICKOVER I SPENT Â £143 ON A NEW MAP SENSOR AFTER BEING TOLD THAT IT HAD BROKEN,BUT AFTER FITTING IT THE PROBLEM WAS STILL THERE. I RECENTLY GOT MADE REDUNDANT AND CANNOT AFFORD ANY MORE COSTLY REPAIRS AS I DONT REALLY HAVE THE FUNDS. PLEASE ADVISE ME.THANKS .P.S IM SORRY I CANT MAKE A DONATION BUT PLEASE HELP ME. THANKS AGAIN.

Sorry to hear the bad news. Good luck to your job hunting.
I am sorry to say I do not understand your question about the term "tickover". Do you mean to say the idling speed surges? If yes, it means excessive air is getting past the throttle body and increasing the idling speed. When this happens, the power control module is confused so keeps trying to compensate.
My database is for US based vehicles and do not have the data for your vehicle so you might have to upload pictures of the system and component locations for me to understand.
