Have been having problems with transmission - jerky motions, esp when putting it in reverse. The dealer is quoting $ 3,000 for rebuilding the transmission and to fix the rear engine mount that has cracked.
Is this a fair estimate?
If not, where else could I take the car for a better price and quality work?
We live in northern orange county, los angeles area.

Thanking you,

Pranav

I would call around and get some quotes as I am showing about 1200 dollars not including transmision hard parts. It is hard to determine the cost on internal parts as you never know what you might find inside.

CHECK WITH HONDA TO SEE IF THERE IS A FACTORY RECALL. I HAVE A 99 AND HONDA HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION FOR FREE. THEY OBVIOUSLY WON'T TELL YOU THIS YOU HAVE TO FIND IT YOURSELF.
