1993 Honda Del Sol Clutch won't engage

Hi, I got out this morning to leave and my clutch pedal sinks all the way to the floor and I am unable to get the car to go into any gear. The cluch feels like there is no resistance at all. I'm sure I will have to have it towed to a shop but any idea at all what this could be and any idea on repair cost. I am the orginal owner and it has a little over 71,000 miles. This has been a GREAT car and I have had no real repairs to it in the 16 yrs I've had it, but the timing on this is terrible as I lost my job and would like to keep the repair cost down. Thanks for any help.

It sounds like you have a clutch fluid leak, check for fluid at the top of the clutch pedal assembly by the fire wall, if none there check the lines and finally the slave cylinder.

Near the "Brake Fluid Resivoir" is a smaller reivoir for your "Hydrulic Clutch". Ck. The fluid level , it's probubly EMPTY. The Clutch Master Cylender is part of this Resivoir & connects to the Clutch Pedal. On the Transmission is a Slave Cylender, one of these components, or the line is leaking. If the Master Cylender is leaking, it usually leaks onto the Drivers floor, look for dampness there. You may have to get under the car to ck. The Slave Cylender. If the vehicle is not on a hoist, ALWAYS USE JACK STANDS ! Brake fluid, DOT - 3 is used in the Master Cylender. Good Luck !
