Air Conditioning problem
2001 Honda Civic 40,000 miles

howdy. So my air compressor shut down and it snapped my alternator belt. They rerouted the alternator belt so it wouldnt go around the compressor but im unable to use my ac. My question is can I use my heater and defrost or does the compressor control these as well?

Hi there, the heater is independent of the A/C the screen defog, will still work but with out the A/C it won't be as efficient.

So my car won`t break down if I use the heater or defrost? When the air compressor stopped it snapped my alternator and my car cut off on the highway. I really want to avoid this but I don`t have $1000 to fix it. I can live without my ac for now. Again I appreciate it and happy holidays.
