I recently had my clutch replaced on my 1999 Honda Civic DX hatchback five speed manual. Since then, my speedometer does not seem to be working. When I am pressing on the accelerator, the speedometer hovers around 25 miles an hour, regardless of what my actual speed is or what gear I'm in. I only get somewhat of an actual reading when I'm braking, pressing on the clutch, or in neutral. Is this a separate issue with my speedometer, or is this related to my clutch replacement?

Hi bridgetmorag,

The speedometer receives its signal from the tranmission mount speed sensor and during installation, the sensor could be installed incorrectly. Check the connectors. It could be a faulty speed sensor, it sometimes gives way when subjected to vibrations incurred while removong and installing the transmission.
