Car sat for three days. While attempting to start it the engine sounded as if started was bad. Towed it to dealer who said car was flooded and had no other problem. Car ran fine after that.
Three weeks later, car sat for three days. While trying to start, it again sounded bad. It did start and seemed to run fine.
What does flooded mean? Why does it seem to happen after three days of sitting? How can it be checked and repaired?

Hi ron law,

The battery condition should be a little low and after 3 days of sitting, it does not have enough power to crank up the starter.

When you tried to crank with a slow starter, fuel is being sent into the combustion chambers and after a prolonged time, it will be what is known as flooded, too much fuel in the cylinders.

What you are facing is not the flooding, but rather a weak battery, most probably it is time to get a replacement or a full charge if it has not been driven a lot.
