My 1995 Honda Civic is very hard to start. It feels like it's not getting any fuel. Also, it surges and stalls at times, especially when stopped at an intersection. Any idea as to where I start?

Hi fc_ignacio,

If the hard starting is intermittent, I would suggest starting with the PGM-FI main relay. Known to cause intermittent starting problem and resoldering the circuit board with replacement of the solders would work.

If difficult starting occurs only after prolonged parking, then you need to check the fuel pressure.

If difficult starting occurs at any given time, fuel pressure, spark plugs, engine compression and ignition timng are main suspects.
