I have a 1992 civic with a 1995 civic ex motor and tanny in it. D16z6 motor and p20 transmission. The output shaft seal on the driver side of the car is not sealing. I have replace the output shaft seal twice and sometimes going down the road under heavy accelereation in low gears I hear a high pitch whining from the tranmission, which I have figured out the driver side cv axle coming out of the transmission is unseating itself and dumping large amounts of oil out of the tranny and I have refilled the transmission many many times. Anyone have any sugestions?

Hi sargeslapnuts,

Seems the trans differential end bearings are bad causing the inner CV joint to be dislodging itself and this would require a trans rebuilt.

Thanks for the advice I though ithad soome thing to do with transmission. Now I have one more question. Will a s20 tranny out of a civic si accept the civic ex cv-axles I have. I'm pretty sure they will but not completely positive although I know the civi si Axle has a different hub locking systems but I think it is the same going into the tranny as the other Honda trAnnys.

The CV shaft should be similar but to be sure, measure the oil seal seats on the Cv shaft to be sure.
