1995 Honda Civic 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

I have every thing that needs to be loose to pull the engine but I need to know how to get the driveshaft out with out taking the wheels and roaders off thats the only thing that is keeping me from pullin it out got and suggestions on what to do?

Hi there,

The only way to remove the drive shafts are to undo the lock not remove the wheel undo the tie rod end & lower shocker mount & swing the hub clear while withdrawing the shaft spline end from the hub, then the shaft can be removed from the gearbox.

Hi rcedillo70,

mhpautos has described how to remove them which are the recommended method, but if you don't want to remove them, the minimum you need to do is remove the lower arm ball joints.

This is not the recommended method but it works, however extra care needs to be taken to prevent damages, especially to the trans oil seals.

Put the vehicle on stands.
Remove the lower ball joints.
Pry dirveshafts inboard joints out and push knuckle w/wheel outwards.
Place a piece of wood between lower arm and knuckle to allow clearance between driveshaft and trans.

Removing 1 side of the tie rod end would allow for more clearance and easier work.
