Hey, I have a nice car listed above EF sedan with Frankenstein motor. I have difficulty with the distributor. When engine cold everything works when it is getting hot and lets say I take a ride; I park my car turn off ignition if I try to start it won't start, I have to wait 20 -30 minutes for the distributor get cold and I can start it.

Hi,

The first thing I'm going to suggest is to check if there are diagnostic trouble codes stored that will point us in the right direction.

Here is a link that explains how to retrieve them. Since this is an OBD1 system, you won't need a scan tool.

This may be a tough one because the engine (1.8) didn't come in the Civic at this time. By chance, do you know if the engine was changed and if so, what it came from?

Let me know.

Joe
