Engine stutters on acceleration

I have a 1994 accord lx 2.2 non v-tec with 120000 miles . When you accelerate the car it sputters turns on the check engine light and oil light then the car shuts off, but it doesn't do it in reverse. i just had the heads rebuilt new starter, cap rotor, computer and distributer. I'm stumped.

Get the codes pulled. This might be a plug or plug wire problem. It might be an EGR valve as well.

I also forgot the guages go crazy and the check engine light doesn't stay on so i can't scan the codes. Checked the egr valve and cleaned. Still the same problem. Should i replace the egr valve or sensor.
