I am trying to change my serpentine belt that recently broke. How do I get the tensioner to move? From what I see it is a 12 or 13mm screw. Which way is it suppose to turn? I don't want to break or strip it. Will it turn fairly easiily? The alignment arrow on the block and the line on the tensioner are not lined up. Will that line up with the when I turn get the tensioner to move?

Please advise.

Hi absolutelowrate,

To release the tension, turn the bolt head ( 14 mm ) clockwise.

The markings should be within the range as indicated. The indicator A should be within the standard range (B). If it is out of the standard range, the belt is due for replacement.
