Transmission problem
1999 Honda Accord 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Would the ecc cause the transmission to stay in nutral after driven for a shot bit? Transmission has been rebuilt but the the problem still exsist. It will not engage in any gears after a stop.I have to turn the ignition off and back on to get it to grab a gear. Ignition has been replaced also. What would be my next approch to solve problem? Should I replace the ecc, Its my son's car and it has me about tap out on availble funds to fix it for college. Thank you so much for your help.

Hi daburnsboys,

When the trans refuses to engage, the most likely fault are the controls but it could also be the transmission itself. When the trans is shifting, are up and downshifts smooth?

When was the rebuilt done?
Did you try to retrieve for trouble codes?
