I have this problem for last 2 weeks. It takes a lot of effort to put the car on 1st gear. But it works fine if I shift to 1st from 2nd gear directly. Everytime I am on stop light I have to put it on 2nd gear and then 1st. I would like to know whatz wrong with it.

also my clutch slips a little bit. Am I damaging anything on the transmission by driving it like that.

Hi mehfuzhoss,

The clutch disc is moving away from the pressure plate or flywheel slowly due to inefficient lubrication of the clutch shaft causing the clutch to be partially engaged.

You would need to replace the clutch to resolve it. Since the clutch is slipping, guess it is time you do it.

Crashing of the gears is not going to be good for the trans in the long run and you might get stranded when the clutch fails.
