I have a 1994 Honda Accord, currently it have 126700 miles. The problem is that my trip meter stop rolling as well as the odometer. In addition, whenever, I turned on my headlight, my clock would reset to 1:00. Can anyone tell me what's wrong and how to fix it?

Hi kn0222,

If the speedometer is functioning whereas the odometer and trip meter is not cumulating, the motor is either faulty or has a loose connection. You would have to remove the meter cluster to check.

As to the clock resetting when headlights are turned on, it most probably is caused by a faulty clock. Internal interference from the lights on circuit for dimming is causing it.

How should I come about to fixing the clock reset everytime I turned the headlight on. Also, the trip meter and odometer stopped working when I hit the reset but on my trip meter.

I double checked the cluster, but there seem not any loose connection. If the motor is faulty, it is wise to replace the whole cluster or just the motor itself. If so, where can I get one? Thank you.

So, the only solution is to get a new clock? Please help!

Sometimes the after pressing the reset button, the gears gets stuck and that would result in the odometer and trip meter not cumulating. Try pressing the reset button a few times, the problem might clear up.

If that does not help, you would have to replace the meter cluster. The motor is not sold separately.

As to the clock, the only option is a replacement part.
