Engine Mechanical problem
1990 Honda Accord 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 160ooo miles

There's a little green light on the dash, When it's flashing the car won't start. The repair manual says pull the ECU fuse, wait 30 seconds & put it back in. Sometimes I have to repeat this 20 to 30 times before it will start. Any ideas?

Hi dely0575,

Is it the light with an 'S'?

Check out the main relay. Its ECU circuit is not functioning well.

Hi dely0575,

Replacing the alternator should not be that difficult but be careful when disconnecting the main wire form the battery, the nut tends to get jammed so make sure terminal is not turning together with nut while loosening.

Remember to remove battery negative terminal first.

The door lock would be a different matter if it is not due to linkage problem If the lock is defective, only way is to break the plastic part to allow the lock to release.

I meant the main relay, not the fuse.
