when I turn the car off it doesnt shut off right away.

Hi there,

If it still runs, but very rough and erratic, that is call "running on" this can be caused by a number of things, have the ignition timing checked, idle speed also if the mixture is very lean this will cause the engine to run hot and carbon deposits in the engine can glow and cause pre ignition as well.
