i just had a honda give me same kind of problem. it felt as if the timing was too far advanced and it would buck when trying to start, i found that the starter motor was bad causing not enough cranking power. it was a last ditch effort and it was the first time i had seen a starter act this way but thats what fixed it.

look real close at the connector at the computer because i have also seen them corrode fromwater intrusion and sometimes unplugging them and plugging them back in work temporarily
