Car sat for about a year. Recently replaced carbuerator, fuel pump, alternator and valve cover gasket. All parts were used with the exception of the valve cover gasket.

Car will start but dies after idling for a minute.

Hi mangrum,

There are many possibilities for engine not idling and you need to check if it is due to fuel starvation or rich fuel.

Fuel starvation can be due to faulty/clogged idle circuit and one of the item to check is the fuel cut solenoid.
Vacumn hosses are anothe area which requires atention.

If it is running rich, it could be due to the auto choke not opening fully.
