The SUV dies when shifted into Reverse or Drive and pressing on the brake or if you come to a stop. Usually happens around 8 seconds into holding the brake down. We have changed out the Idle Control, completed an electrical tune-up, replaced the fuel pump and filter, replaced some vacuum hoses to the TBI and replaced the Neutral Saftey Switch on the Transmission but the problem does not go away. Do you have any idea on what can be causing this?

When you say it dies, is it as if you turned the key off or is it a spit, sputter, cough type slow death?
Does it start right up after this?

My immediate suggestion is to change the injectors or pour a few bottles of injector cleaner into the tank.
You might also try adding some E-85 fuel (1 gallon for every 9 gallons of fuel). The alcohol will clean the system. You might have to change the fuel filter after doing this because alcohol will clean everything in the fuel system (pump, lines, injectors).

Good luck
