I have a 2000 gmc sierra 4wd. I can shift it into reverse but it will not click into reverse or go in reverse only nutraul. I can shift into all other gears. I noticed the trans fluid was bone dry and just slowly added 3 bottles one at a time but still having problems. it is over 100,000 miles and it is a 3block. what am I looking at for a problem? thanks, nicole

Still might be low on fluid, you have to check the level of the fluid with the engine idling in park, even if the transmission is a pint or quart low you will experience troubles. Don't worry if you happen to overfill it a little, won't hurt nothing.

transmission specifications are 7 1/2 qts. Does it read anything on the dipstick when you check the level
