We have been having problems with our 1998 gmc safari for the last 4 years. When ever it rains or snows the van misses and at times the van dies leaving me to call a tow truck. At times when the weather is bad it will not even run. We have replaced the cap and rotor, coil, and then it runs good for 2 months and it misses again really bad. We have taken it in to the dealer ship where we got it and they lied and said it was bad gas just to get us off their backs because they didnt know what was wrong. We have dumped so much money in this van we are at an end with the problem. Can you help us decided what could be wrong or what needs to be checked? We also have put it on a engine code scanner and all it says is miss fire. Please help if you can thanks

If putting the coil on it and it makes it run properly makes us thing that there is an issue with getting moisture in the coil. This means we need to find out if you have any water leaking into the engine compartment or otherwise getting moisture in or around it.

Here are a couple guides that will help with this:

In order to find out if this is what is happening, we need to replace the coil again and take it apart and find out if there is any sign of moisture on the circuit board.

I attached the process below on how to replace this. If there is no moisture, then we have to assume that you are just getting cheap coils and they are not lasting very long.

Please run through this and let us know what you find. Thanks
