Overheated now wont start

Have a chevy s10 1987
was driven when it over heated and died
now it wont start
turns over fine, acts like it wants to start but wont

Have you tested any thing? Compression, spark, fuel pressure?

I do have spark, dont have a compression tester, I can hear the electric fuel pump kick on, but not I am starting to think that it is just hummin but not sending any fuel,
i tried putting some starting fluid in the carb, but to no avail

Changed out all the plugs, getting fire, just wont start, any ideas, it overheated, there is no anti freeze in the oil, plus have put starting fluid in carb, but still wont start, need some ideas over this prob, what could be stopping the engine from starting.

You still could have crackted something I would invest in a commpresion tester even a cheap one will give a good idea of the sevarity of the possibale damage
