When I need to make a sharp U-turn or any quick and sharp turn, sometimes my truck will die. When I turn the wheel all the way till it can turn no more, my truck engine will shut off and my battery light will come on. I can throw the truck in Neutral and start it up with ease. Is this an electrical problem? Where should I take this to find out what is wrong. I know my truck is no longer un warrenty, do you think this will be expensive depending on what needs to be fixed?

Also, the light where my oil pressure guage in my dash does not light up any more, I will check the fuse, but, sometimes my oil pressure guage does not move at all. It will remain at 0, and then when I accelerate, it will go to the half way mark and then go back down. Sometimes it works normaly and other times it does not. Is this an electrical problem?

Has the check engine light come on? As far as the oil pressure, have you ever heard a knocking or ticking sound when the gauge is on 0?

No sir, the check engine light has not come on, nor have I heard any knocking or ticking. I have also noticed one other thing. I live in Houston TX and right now we have been having some sever heat waves. The heat index has reached 116 sometimes. On that note becasue of parking issues at my job, I have to back into a parking spot so it is easier for me to leave since our parking lot seems to be made for small compact cars. When the sun is starting to lower, the front of my truck faces the sun. So when I leave for work around 5:30 or 6. That is when I notice that my oil pressure guage does not work. I haev noticed that in the mornings, it works pretty much all of the time. There really is no where else I can park in the shade. I appreciate your help!

If you don't hear any knocking or ticking, chances are everything is fine. I would start with replacing the oil sending unit. Chances are it is the problem, and you could do it yourself.

LEt me know if it helps.

Joe
