Engine Mechanical problem
1990 Geo Prizm 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Recently changed motors in the car. The car now has no get up and go. When putting it into gear it goes dead. The only way to start the car is too push the pedal down some, just to give it gas. When putting in gear we might get a total of 5mph. All compression in cylinders are ok about 180 psi

Check timing first. Jump connectors in diagnostic port and check timing with timing light, you want 10 degrees BTDC.
Check fuel pressure with mechanical gauge and FPR vacuum line for the presence of gas.

Remove and clean the IAC (idle air control valve) and clean throttle body. If equipped with EGR, remove and clean the EGR pintle.

Check TV cable for proper adjustment.

What engine did you have and what engine did you put in (4AFE or 4AGE?).

It is possible the TCC (torque convertor lockup) is engaged and not releasing.

Remove the connector on the trans. And see if it still does it, if not then the TCC solenoid is the culprit.
