Started fine this am, drove to job site 1 1/2hr later no start. After thinking about it, over the last few days it has taken longer than normal to start like it's not getting enough gas. Don't know that the fuel filter has ever been changed. Could this be the problem?

Hi,

There is a chance the filter is restricted. However, there are other things as well that can cause it. For example, the fuel pump may have failed, or you could have a faulty crankshaft position sensor.

Do me a favor. See if it starts for a couple of seconds if you use starting fluid. If it does, then we confirmed it is a fuel-related issue. If there is no change, I need you to check for spark at the plugs.

Here is a link that explains how it is done:

I would try this first to confirm it is a fuel issue. If, however, you want to replace the fuel filter first, I attached the directions specific to your vehicle below. The filter is near the charcoal canister under the vehicle. Also, here is a link you may find helpful as well:

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe

See pics below. Note: the first two pics are to help you locate the filter. The remaining pictures are the procedures for replacing it.
