Trying to find out how to check if fuel filter needs replacing without having to drop the whole fuel tank. All signs point to fuel filter or worse, fuel pump area.

Hello,

Do you have starting or cutting out issues?

A few guides on checks:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/signs-of-a-clogged-fuel-filter-in-your-car-symptoms-to-watch
and
https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-fuel-system-pressure-and-regulator
and

The fuel filter is located in the gas tank, part of the in-tank fuel pump.

While the Holden Barina is not sold in the USA or Europe it is closely related to the Chevrolet Sonic, see last image.

How to remove fuel tank and pump see illustrations below.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Boris
