when driving my battery light will come on randomly and then goes off. but it does this everyday,day or night.stays on for a few minutes.

Hello,
This could be due to faulty cable to the battery. As the light comes and goes it is an intermittent issue triggering by a connection.
Check the cable and make sure it is secured. Clean any corrosion that might be on the battery terminal.
Also make sure the alternator cable is secured and free of corrosion.
