1996 Ford Windstar Changing

Beware of the special fluid types required on the cutoff year 1998; this is explained in the article under "Fluid Types". I have a TSB Article Number 01-15-7 which indicates vehicle built prior to September 9, 1997 use Mercon ATF. Windstars built after that date use Mercon V. The two fluids are not intercangeable.
All 1998 and later Taurus/Sable models (regardless of production date) use Mercon V.
