Hello Bob and or Ken,

I recently changed the plugs in my neighbors 2003 Ford Taurus, It ran fine for 2 days he then came back and said the car was missing and running rough at idle, I checked all 6 plugs and found nothing wrong, i.E checked gaps, checked wires for burns/swelling and looked for fouling, nothing, put it back together and it ran fine for another 2 days, he then took it to Ford who told him the plugs I used (BOSCH Platinums) did not run well in Fords and that he needed new plugs and wires( MOTORCRAFT), is this correct? Should I replace with Motorcraft or should I be looking in another direction, MAF maybe?
Thanks

My best guess would be wires as the plugs should not make any major difference. Sounds like they found bad wires and wanted to charge him for the full price of a tune up.

Plugs do make a BIG differance, boch doesn't do good in ford products. I know I found that out myself. Then I swiched back to motorcraft which are made for ford products and it runs fine i've had no problems yet and it's been at least 2 years. And as long as your plug wires are still in good condition thiers no need in changing them out. Unless you want to. Use all ford fluids to on your car like motorcraft oil trans. Fluid F type.
