2006 Ford Taurus Automatic

Getting desperate. My daughter bought this 2006 with less than 15,000 miles on with factory warranty still intact. She immediately started having problems with the "check engine" light coming on. We have been dealing with this for 2 years, just picked up from Ford again today and they still cannot duplicate problem or come up with solution. Only new thing is that someone else with 2006 had theirs in with same problem and cannot identify it either.

When the check engine light goes on, everything goes haywire. Temp goes up, radio goes off, door locks, all power is gone. While she is driving. Does not matter what speed or where. Right now especially dangerous as she leaves to work in the dark and it has happened twice in the last 2 weeks. So she is driving with no power, no lights, no steering trying to get out of the way and has nearly had a wreck. I was with her one time when it happened on tat highway in the daytime and it scared me to death.

They even had a black blox on it for awhile that she pushed a button to record it when it happened. They said it just looked like someone took foot off gas, it still did not record any errors.

When I talked to them today, they do not know why it does not record it in the computer and until it does they do not know what else to do. With 2 cars there they had regional rep out, talked to hq and still could not come up with answer.

I am afraid she is going to end up in a major wreck. Half the time she has taken it in they won't do anything as they said it has to be doing it more for them to duplicate the problem.

Where do we go from here? Any ideas. They have checked all wires to make sure they were connected and not loose. Any suggestions.

I am ready to call about Lemon Law as this is a safety issure that she has had to deal with for so long.

I would donate more but have been off work all year and do not have the funds.

This is my opinion on the subject
I would do the lemon law

also
try and check with another ford dealer ship in the area and let them take a fresh look at it
as this dealer may see your car and say its back again we have checked it all

call ford headquarters your self

of course its a safety issue

I would suspect ignition switch

need manual CHECK IT @

We actually have taken it to other dealership. Same thing. No computer erro recording and nothing that can do until it starts doing it all the time where they can duplicate problem.
