put a different battery in, no change, not even lights or radio. I've been told it's not the alternator or starter if different battery made no difference; is that correct? Please Help! Thank you.

Hello,

Just to clarify, after installing a new battery you get no lights or radio?
Did this issue existed before you changed the battery?

You might have a wiring issue somewhere.
It could be as simple as a corroded battery cable or loose cable on the battery ground side.
First check the battery cables for any corrosions. Then check and verify that the ground cable is indeed grounded to the vehicle.

You could also have an issue on the junction box. The junction box is located close to the battery under the hood. (see diagram)
Make sure you are getting power to the box.

Thank you.
