Heater problem
1998 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My 1998 Ford taurus heating and a/c doesn't work anymore. I had my mechanic check it and he said its something electrical. The fan works but it doesnt blow into my car. You will feel a lil bit of air. What could the problem be and about how much would it cost to get it fixed?

If the blower motor is on and you feel a little air there is something wrong with the delivery. There are actuators to control the panels to open close direct air etc. You can check those or remove the blow motor get yourself a dryvac that has a blower on it or something of that nature and blow air into the compartment the blower motor attaches to see if you feel the air come through the vents etc you can start tracing your problem this way making sure the housing is all connected and there is no blockage

If you do feel the air coming out when you are blowing through the housing with a blower or an air compressor make sure your motor is working correctly you can engage this by hooking up to the leads on the motor I have replaced some before where they have been blocked infact 1 I replaced about 3 weeks ago had a stack of papers in the motor preventing any airflow
