Engine Performance problem
1997 Ford Taurus V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 50.000 miles

i have aquired a 1997 taurus SHO. I'm out of a car right now so my best friend let me borrow it. (I've kind of been the mechanic on it). For about a year now the car has been running rough. We took it in and got it scanned, found a parts car, and replaced the 2 coils that we're bad. It fixed some of the problem. The issue now seems to be after it's been running for about 15-20 minutes. It lose's power and stalls upon stopping. Without turning the key completely off it will not start. But if you turn the key off for a few seconds and start it back up its like the problem never exsisted. Until 15 minutes later. The process repeats. Im pretty sure its a sensor, im just not sure what direction to go in. Cam position maybe?

I take it the check engine light isnt lit? Sounds mor elika the Idle Air Control Valve if it does it when you come to a stop. They can get "lazy" and not respond fast enough tot keep it alive, but will work on restarts. Also they dont always set the check engine light, since they still work the PCM thinks it is ok.
