Okay, it has 124,000 miles. Our problem is what to do. We took it to shop, shop said it was motor mounts causing problem. Brought car home, is having rough shiftting, vibrations with shifting, or won't do in drive as of late. My assumption is the tranny is shot. How could a tech miss a bad tranny on a test drive? Anyway, what is approx. Cost to r/r a rebuilt or new one? We are weighing our options of fixing the car or replacing the car,
Thanks!

I have a 94 Taurus wagon, beautiful car, I am the original owner trans went at 63k, cost me 1850 with 2 new trans mounts, new rear oil seal. I was pissed when it happened, friggin ax4s trans, my problem wasn't even related to the infamous forward piston problem, Ford knows this trans is a pile, they oughta be fronting 50% as a customer satisfaction policy. I called ford Hq, told them what I thought of their trans, pretty much a waste of my breath.
