I have a Taurus SHO and when I drive it, it shakes violently when I have the throttle 1/4 or more and will stop if I take my foot on the gas and lightly apply it. And when its in neutral it will only rev up to three grand if I push the gas pedal maybe half throttle. I just changed the fuel filter, and I dont have an engine light on or a misfire of any sort, and it idles fine. What could it be? Is it a sensor or somthing?

Sounds like it may have an ignition problem or possibly an injector going bad. Besides the fuel filter, has it been tuned up? Did you use OE parts? If not need to start there, need the basic ignition in shape before trying to find other problems. Can you make it misfire (shake violently) if you have it in gear while sitting still? If so this will be how to find the cylinder that isnt working at that point

No it does not misfire. It runs fines, its not getting something, but the lack of that something is not causing a misfire. Maybe its an exhaust restriction

Try loosening the exhaust before the cats to see if it will run better. Sorry I misunderstod, usually "shake violently" means missing
