1999 Ford Ranger Wipers Come On By Themselves

1999 Ford Ranger 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

My Ford Ranger has always had a problem with the wipers coming on by themselves. Sometimes it has happened after making a turn but most of the time they just come on.

What should I check to make this problem go away?

I had a similar problem with a Mercury Sable and never could figure that one out.

There is a recall on that truck for that problem I have the same truck and my wipers do the same thing. Its a faulty switch that can even catch fire if the trucks not even running! U should have got something in the mail about it from a dealer. I would get that replaced at the first chance. They just sent the recall out aobut 4 or 5 months ago.

Ford doesn't show a recall for the Ranger with a problem with the wipers coming on by themselves. Any help with a number, web location that has it listed, etc. Would be appreciated.

Ford's website shows nothing!
