Ok. So this is going to be long. And im desperate for help. So i'll do my best to explain: I have a 99 Ford Ranger XLT. 2.5 4cyl automatic that has almost 130,000 miles on it. I made the mistake of allowing my fuel tank to run too low for too long and it began getting sludge in the fuel line. I made a point to keep plenty of fuel in it, replaced the in-line filter and gave it the correct ratio of Sea Foam/Injector Cleaner Gum out, etc. This corrected the issue for a brief time. Then it started acting up. When I would try to start the truck, it would hit over but not enough to run the engine and it would stall. If I lightly placed my foot on the pedal *I know you shouldn't have to on a fuel injected vehicle* it would start up, obviously rev a bit high and then settle into a good idle. This carried on for a few months and then it got worse. It started to idle very rough, so I checked the spark plugs and wires. They desperately needed changed. I changed them and I noticed an instant difference. The truck started up, ran, idled wonderfully and had added horsepower. Two days after it began to repeat the process. Stalling and not wanting to idle. Does anyone have any flipping clue as to what's going on? As I said. Im at a loss and im completely desperate.

Hello
Thanks for your donation.
I'm sorry you are having troubles with your Ford Ranger.

You say that you replaced plugs and wires and two days later it starts to stall again? You should go ahead and check for good spark at the plugs. Make sure the spark that is jumping from wires is bright blue in color. If it is dull and orange in color then it is not getting enough spark to ignite the fuel. Also, check your fuel pressure to ensure it is correct as well.

Post your results of these two tests and I will follow up.
