The truck will not go into gear with engine on. It will grind if you try and put it in reverse and just will not move into any other gear (no grinding). With the engine off though, it will cycle thru all gears just fine.
I am not a mechanic so any info will be helpful.

First, open the hood and make sure the clutch reservoir is full. If it is, chances are either the slave cylender or the pressure plate is bad.

Let me know what you find.

Hello,

I have looked under the hood, cause that is what I thought, I cannot find any res. For any kind of fluid except brake, coolant, etc. The normal stuff. I did go under and take a look at the transmission itself, I saw what I thought was a fill cap and another that I assume it the drain plug. Any other comments. Thanks for your help.

It's there. Check on the driver's side of the firewall (under the hood). It's only about 2 inches high and 2 inches in diameter.
