Lately my truck has started acting up. When I start my truck, it idles fine, but when I give it gas, it doesn't want to run more than 1500 rpms When I press the throttle further down it sounds like a "lugging engine" (if it were a standard) and slows even more. After a minute or so of playing with the throttle it snaps out of it and runs strong. It has also started acting up when i'm driving down the highway at higher rpms. At random times, it acts like its not getting gas and doesn't respond to throttling. The chick engine light comes on, but promptly goes back off. PLEASE HELP!

I changed the fuel filter and that didn't help. I took my truck to a mechanic and he cleaned the MAF. It takes a special tool to get into it. Now it runs better than it has in a long time!
