1988 Ford Ranger stalls

It runs like a top--new gas tank--plugs--wires-filter. Just dies as if it lost power or no gas-like when u run out. If it sits awhile -or over nite n if I rock the helll out of it--it starts.

After it die what is Missing
u need to check

is it fuel or no spark

possible bad coil fuel relay
or ignition switch or.......

Check what missing 1st

If u spray starting fluid in--it will start n run till its gone. Could this only be because compression will ignite it? Or it runs on it like gas. There for--would it not be getting gas n thus be a fuel pump--or maybe a sensor that tells it to send fuel

If it start with spary then its fuel issue
check fuel pump and check the power to the fuel pump
try to listen at the tank for fuel pump when 1st key on
