My pickup squeals when you turn on the AC. I can accelerate and it eventually stops or I can decelerate and it will stop.   I thought that it was in need of a new belt, but I was told the AC has a rod and a belt of its own that may be the problem, and I was told that it sounded like the clutch in the AC was bad. Please advise.

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

I would be doing the simple things first, replace the belt and check that the comp clutch bearing is ok, it should spin free with no belt on and any idler pulley is also serviceable, start here.
