My gas pedal all of a sudden quit working today. It feels as though it has come loose, and it now just sits with no resistance on the floor. Is this an easy fix?

I had the same problem in my old 97 Mustang. It when I looked underneath the tip of the throttle cable had broken off which keeps in from sipping through the hole on the pedal. I just had to go get a crimping tool from and friend and put a new tip on the cable.
