1999 Ford Mustang dome light

Hey, every time I open my car door then the light will turn on, but then when I shut it the light doesnt turn off. I go around and re shut all the doors and trunk but it still wont shut off. Then it will shut off about 5 min later, then out of the blue even if the doors dont even open the light will turn back on! What do u think is wrong with it and how can I fix it?

Interior lighting is controlled by the GEM(generic electronic module). Any faults on this system will display a fault code which can be read a scantool. The fault will not set the MIL/CEL.
