Hi. I drive a 2005 Ford Focus SE. I was on an open country road today and for the first time decided to test it max speed. After I reached it (110) I immediately slowed down to 65-70 mph. I came to a stop sign and turned onto my road. When I got to my driveway I had trouble shifting into gear to drive into my driveway. I had to give it gas to get the car moving. When I parked the car I noticed a funny rubber smell. I turned off the car then started it. It was hard to shift into first and once I was in it it just started rolling with no power. I shut the car off and tried starting it again but it would not. What happened? Please respond quickly. Thank you!

When you say no start is it a no crank, no start or no crank period.? Do you have spark?
Standard transmission?

Sounds like the slave cylinder or the master cylinder died on you. That would make it hard to get in gear and also to start rolling once you got it in gear and started. It also (if the clutch is not releasing) wouldn't allow it to start up at all. Check the clutch resevoir and see if it is low if it is then you have a transmission problem of some kind. If not then something else is the matter and you will have to trouble shoot it more and post back on what you have found.
