Steering problem
1996 Ford F350 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 204, + miles

sounds like bearing or bushing at top of column, behind steering wheel has worn out, causing excesive play in wheel (can move wheel approx 1/8" all directions from center) recommended method of repair (have tools) or approximate cost for dealer/shop repair? No air-bag, EOD automatic w/cruise, 7.3 Diesel.

There are 2 bearing assemblies in the colum, Upper and lower. There are 2 parts to them as well. Inner and outer. Pretty easy to replace you will have to remove the upper colum assembly to replace them. Parts are not to expensive. Good luck
