I am thinking about doing a break job myself of my 2003 F250 4 x 4. Every thing I read says to replace the rotors if I replace the pads. The truck has 70,000 miles on it. The present breaks are not making noise, just have noticed a little loss of break and less peddel. Can I just have the rotors re surfaced or turned down, or must I replace them.
Thanks Leroy

Generally unless the rotors are warped, have deep gouges, or are clearly worn/machined too thin, they don't need to be replaced. Since you will have them off, take them to someone who turns rotors and have them checked.
