My 99 e150 v6 with 350 000 miles on it is having some power issues. It has hard time getting up hills, and it is sputtering. I have replaced the cats and that helped a little. It was way worse before. The compression is around 165 on cylinders, I have done a majore tune up including the fuel pump. My MIL is on and but I can not read any codes off of the ECM. Befor I replaced the cats the MIL WILL START FLASHING when I press the gas padle to accelerate. Now the mil does not flash but I still do not have power like it used to do. What coud be the problem?

This is the thing; I can not pull any codes out of the ECM. It keeps displaying "vehicle not responding". The fuel pump was replaced with a non-original one. Is it possible that only after 10 000 miles it gave up again? And what about the EGR, it has never been replaced.

Thanks

Most of the after market pumps scare me. I have seen a high failure rate with them. Autozone pumps, airtex pumps are a few that I would NEVER use.

I would make a priority on getting the communication with the ECM a priority. Althogh you can check the fuel pressure when the problem is happening.
