1991 Ford F150 Fuel Pump
Electrical problem

I have a 1991 ford F150 larait xlt with the 4.9L. When i switch it on the fuel pump comes on but it wont shut off. It's a duel fuel tank truck but the back tank is the only one that does this.

Need to inspect relay. If relay is faulty it will stick causing pump to run at all times. If relay is OK, suspect faulty pump.

thanks for the reply. I just replaced the pump in the front tank... and it literalry caught on fire... i guess the caseing on the pump was black and melted. just tankful it didnt blow up. the pump was in a full tank of gas when it did this.
